New York-based Christian worship center, Shekina House of Worship, announces plans to host a free health fair for people in and around Queens

Shekina House of Worship is looking to take the worship experience a notch higher as the church is set to host a free community and wellness fair that will feature health experts from different fields. The event will hold on Saturday 10 July 2021 at the premises of the church, offering a different kind of service other than the traditional weekly worship.

The popular age-long adage that health is wealth is a further reiteration of how important overall wellbeing is to every human. Unfortunately, millions of people have not particularly paid adequate attention to their wellness for several reasons. The unfortunate emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic has reiterated the need to take health and wellness extremely important. The case is not particularly different in Queens, New York and other parts of the United States. However, the team at Shekina House of Worship, led by Apostle Dr. Patience Oti, is looking to change this narrative with their upcoming free wellness fair.

The church aims to put unity in the community through immunity by helping as many people as possible to stay healthy by boosting their immune system. The wellness fair is part of the organization’s way of giving back to the community, giving participants access to free Covid-19 testing as well as vaccines. They will also get free screenings for blood pressure and body mass index calculations, offering an all-inclusive wellness package for all categories of attendees.

In addition to the screenings and tests, the fair will also help to spread awareness about several common chronic illnesses, with health experts educating participants on ways of preventing and treating the likes of diabetes, coronavirus, cardiovascular diseases, and a host of others.

The all-inclusive eye-opening event will also feature tons of activities for children. Some of the exciting activities include fire trucks and ambulance tours. There will also be a special doctor on the ground to attend to beloved stuffed animals, with a team of healthcare experts demonstrating several medical treatments that children may encounter while at the hospital or doctor’s office.
