Minnehaha Remodeling is led by green building principles, with a focus on sustainable living and accessibility. The company helps clients make wise investments that are as ecological as possible, striving to buy local and build to last, with renewable materials.

As the chill of winter drives families indoors, homeowners are envisioning more comfortable and functional spaces, leading them to Minnehaha Remodeling. “We’re helping them beat the winter blues with color, style, comfort and functionality,” says owner Russ Henry. “As a family owned and operated company with a specialty of transforming older homes, inside and out, we get it. Refreshing tired and outdated living spaces is warranted and worthwhile.”

Kevin and Donna recently updated the kitchen in their 1946 bungalow in the Como Park area of St. Paul. Donna explains why they wanted to remodel. “We love the historic features of our home but wanted a more functional kitchen with an updated look. We also wanted to move away from dark wood and brighten up the space with white cabinetry and new lighting.”

The solution was to reface and refinish the kitchen cabinets, install quartz countertops, a backsplash, under-counter sink, and. new flooring. Contractor Don Stacy also incorporated kitchen focused seating by extending a bit into the dining room. New stainless-steel appliances replaced the old ones, and Don’s crew ran a gas line so after 20 years of cooking on an electric cooktop, Donna has a new gas stove. “I love my new kitchen,” she says. “It’s like a new toy!” Donna and Kevin also love the functionality of the space and the natural light that reflects creatively within their new design. “Don saw our vision and was able to make it happen.”

In addition to enhanced comfort and function, Minnehaha Remodeling clients are also pleased with increasing the value of their property. Clients who choose to build a home addition or accessory dwelling unit (ADU) are adding space and differentiating their property from the house next door.

Minnehaha Remodeling is a leader in home renovation, designing and renovating kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, home offices, and basements inside the house. Outside the house, they build garages, accessory dwelling units (ACU’s), porches, decks, stairs, gazebos, pergolas, patios, walkways, and retaining walls. As a branch of Minnehaha Falls Landscaping, they also have a team of landscaping professionals to design outdoor spaces, plant and maintain the yard, shrubs and gardens.

Residential remodeling clients are finding that outdoor remodeling of any kind adds square footage to their home. Mary Pasco of Bloomington agrees. “Our new deck runs the length of our house and gives us the space we wanted. We open the patio doors and walk out, like moving from room to room inside our house. And it was great to have a space to gather with family and friends during Covid.”

Some people beat the winter blues by escaping to a warmer climate. Others invest that money in creating a warm and inviting space to enjoy for years to come. As a licensed remodeling contractor, Minnehaha Remodeling is creating gathering spaces and cozy places for families to chase their blues away!
