An alarming rate of suicides has been increasing worldwide as millions of people suffer from innumerable reasons for contemplating suicide. In light of the worsening situation, Imaobong Smart, a nurse and mental health certified with North Texas Behavioral Health Authority, released her book STAY; Your Life is Precious to help combat suicidal thoughts for those on the verge of taking their own lives. The book became popular due to its prime focus on assisting people to overcome suicidal thoughts. It is, therefore, highly regarded as a 3-dimensional suicide prevention project that started as a book and has featured as a song.

Imaobong Smart has recently produced the feature film STAY, adapted from her book “STAY; your life is precious”, Directed by Dallas based director Oluyinka Davids and has been selected for various film festivals. Imaobong Smart has used her storyline to bring attention to the dangerous, delicate, and urgent situation so many people are in, as well as a message of hope, to give people a new perspective and a new reason to continue to pursue their dreams.

September being suicide awareness month was the perfect timing for STAY to be premiered to bring more awareness and spread a message of positivity and hope to help people refrain from taking their lives. A private film viewing took place on 3rd September, attended by approximately 450 people. The STAY movie premiere will be available for more private viewings across schools and churches until this critical issue is raised and hope is instilled in every suffering individual. 

Furthermore, being a transformational speaker and founder of the purpose house foundation, Imaobong Smart has in-depth knowledge of how to cater to people globally, hosting annual conferences dealing with mental health concerning suicide prevention. She has incorporated her wealth of knowledge while producing the movie to help people, pulling them out of the darkness.
