San Jose, CA – May 24, 2022 – Leading Hindu religion-themed kid product store has recently launched a book campaign on Kickstarter  that has already raised not just 100% but even 125% of the funding goal in just a week of the launch on Kickstarter. Titled “Grit, Gratitude & Mirabai”, the book  brings to light the real-life story of courage, perseverance, and  accomplishment of Indian weightlifter Olympian Mirabai to motivate young readers. It is the FIRST-ever book written on the Saikhom Mirabai Chanu for kids.

The campaign was launched with the original funding goal of $1,001 that had to be raised within June 9, 2022. As of now, the campaign has acquired a much larger sum of $1,573. Riding on the initial success, the latest Kickstarter campaign has further posted a stretch goal ($3,000) and there are 3 more weeks to go.

“Grit, Gratitude & Mirabai” is written by Milind Makwana, founder of Dharma Toys, Silicon Valley-based engineer, and the author of Amazon bestseller “A Day In Life of a Hindu Kid”. The illustrations of the book have been done by Mumbai-based professional illustrator Sugam Thakur.

Interestingly, Kickstarter has selected the campaign as part of their “Projects We Love” campaign.

“We are excited to introduce our new book ‘Grit, Gratitude & Mirabai’- a motivational biography of the braveheart Olympian from Manipur (India) whose story of rise against adversities could serve as a huge inspiration to young children. All children have a hidden star inside them and sometimes the best way to awaken the star in them is to motivate them with real-life inspiring stories of success. Mirabai’s story is a wonderful example of how a girl from a modest family went on to win the prestigious Silver medal in the Olympics, beating physical, financial, and also mental challenges”, stated Milind.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all our early supporters who have helped us to not just meet but even cross our funding goal and that too in just a week of the launch. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Kickstarter as well for selecting our campaign for ‘Projects We love’ campaign.”

“Grit, Gratitude & Mirabai” has been designed with care to attract the attention of kids and intrigue them to read the biography. The book features cutting-edge illustrations in tune with the latest advancements and aesthetics in the contemporary illustration space.

Per the statements of Milind, the launch of the campaign in May attaches special significance to the book. May is acknowledged as the Asian Heritage month – the hero of the book, Mirabai, as well as the author and illustrators all are Asians. The month of May also stands for Mental Health Awareness Month.  As Mirabai’s story is about a courageous girl overcoming mental health challenges to win Silver in the Olympics for India, there could not be a better time to launch the book campaign.

“We are hopeful, Mirabai’s real-life story of grit, perseverance, dedication, and courage will serve as a brilliant inspiration for all kids out there. We are positive, ‘Grit, Gratitude & Mirabai’ will render them the courage to attain the spirit to overcome all odds on the way to success. We are done with the designing and now, we are waiting for printing and publishing the book. Thus, this Kickstarter campaign. Your generous support will enable us to bring ‘Grit, Gratitude & Mirabai’ to life and take the inspiring story of Mirabai to all kids out there.”

Backers will be rewarded with exclusive Kickstarter discounts on e-book versions of the book, printed versions, posters, and so on.
