Family Caregiver Assistance, a certified nursing assistant school in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, is now offering CNA and home health aide classes. Prospective students can choose between a 10-day course, a night class, or weekend class according to their daily schedule.

Family Caregiver Assistance and Natasha Dahm have announced that Family Caregiver Assistance now offers CNA/Home Health Aide classes.

These CNA classes in Broken Arrow are meant for anybody that wishes to get started in a career in healthcare. CAN/HHA is one of the fastest-growing professions in healthcare and also serves as a stepping stone for higher nursing degrees.

Students, depending on how they wish to manage their time, can choose from a CNA/Home Health 10-day class, a night class, or a weekend class. All courses are priced at $499 each. Working adults can benefit from the night or weekend classes and obtain their certification quickly.

Students are trained to do all that a nursing assistant is expected to do. This includes giving a bed bath, infection control, managing a patient who has dementia, ensuring safety, necessary hands-on skills, taking a patient’s vital signs, and more.

According to sources, the Family Caregiver Assistance school was set up in 2018. The classroom and nursing lab train students who receive education via digital media, traditional lectures, and on-site visits.

Natasha Dahm, primary instructor, and manager, Family Caregiver Assistance, said, “Our nurses have years of experience teaching nursing assistants everything from how to give a bed bath to how to take a patient’s vital signs. After attending our classes, you will not only learn everything you need to know to pass your state exam, but you will also learn real-world, hands-on experience that will help you be able to give the best patient care possible.

Our classes are set up as a traditional classroom setting taught by an experienced nurse. As a family company, we support an atmosphere where our students are welcomed to ask questions and get answers from professionals with real-world experience. We know combining practical hands-on knowledge with textbook information will help you apply what you have learned and be better equipped for your new career in the health care field.”

In addition to regular learning, students gain real-world experience and are informed about how to clear the tests necessary for joining Oklahoma’s healthcare workforce.

Elaborating on the procedure for becoming a certified nursing assistant, Ms. Dahm said, “Oklahoma state law requires training at an approved school and completion of an approved exam before obtaining your CNA/CHHA certification.

Family Caregiver Assistance and their experienced nurses are certified with the State of Oklahoma and are partnered with Tulsa Tech to offer you required training and testing. After graduating from Family Caregiver Assistance, each CNA/CHHA student will go to Tulsa Tech to take a final clinical exam. The exam is two parts, written and hands-on. Once the student graduates from Family Caregiver Assistance, and completes and passes the Tulsa Tech hands-on and written portions of the state-required exam, they will be listed on the nurse aide registry and be able to go to work as a CNA/certified home health aide.”
