A recent study came out regarding a comprehensive analysis of the sponge cloth, or Swedish dishcloth industry. The study examines the data and predicts that the industry has seen immense growth over the last few years and will only continue to increase, projected to double by 2025.

A recent market research report came out regarding the sponge cloth industry’s growth, projecting global sales doubling by 2025. A sponge cloth, also known as a Swedish dishcloth, is a thin, absorbent cloth that is made from all-natural, eco-friendly and sustainable products; cellulose, cotton, and a natural mineral salt: mirabilite. Throughout the production process, the salt gets washed out, leaving the pores amidst the cotton and the cellulose. The pores enable a single dishcloth to absorb 20x it’s weight in liquids. Some of the key players in this space include but are not limited to Kalle, Spontex Industrial, Corazzi, and 3M.

The comprehensive report covers the industry size, the global market demand, business opportunities, future trends as well as a forecast of the Swedish dishcloth industry from 2019 to 2025. After careful research and examination of the data, the article confirms that the industry is growing at a rapid rate and is expected to double by 2025.

In an interview with Steven Renn, co-owner of Swedish Wholesale, he confirmed the rapid growth in the space and offered the following explanation:

“At Swedish Wholesale we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the demand for cellulose sponge cloths over the last 12 months. We attribute this growth to a powerful shift in the general consumer mindset which values brands and products that not only work well but also provide an eco-friendly and reusable alternative to the products they use every day.”

Our research shows a 300% increase in the number of Swedish dishcloths being sold on various online marketplaces such as Walmart, Etsy, and Amazon.

Renn believes another key factor in the booming of this industry is due to product awareness through social media and word of mouth advertising. “Swedish dishcloths were a hidden gem, now as more people are discovering and loving them, they are eager to share them with family members, friends, and followers.”
